Event Details

The Nature of Words 2011 Literary Festival will present nine nationally acclaimed authors representing the best writing on a national and international scale. This five-day literary celebration includes two nights of guest author readings; two days of guest author-led workshops, lectures and panels; a gala author dinner with a keynote speaker and brief guest author readings; and the Sunday guest author reading and open mic. The festival’s opening event, the Rising Star Creative Writing Competition Awards Ceremony and Reception, honors emerging writers ages 15 and higher in genres including fiction, literary non-fiction, poetry and nature essay.

Guest Author Readings

Guest author readings and book signings take place in downtown Bend’s historic Tower Theatre on Thursday and Friday evenings, November 3^rd and 4^th. Authors discuss and read from their work, and conclude the evening with book signing in the lobby.
